Michelangelo
Photoshop Biography Poster
For this UC Davis design project, students were to create a poster featuring a leader in the arts or sciences who is no longer living. We were to create a cohesive digital illustration using three or more blended or combined images that embody the selected leader.
First, students researched the leader’s background and story and then sketched mock-ups which we intended to illustrate digitally. Exploring a variety of blending tools in the software facilitated the discovery of cohesive combinations. The result shows evidence of proficiency in blending and layering skills to integrate and connect images that are relevant to the subject.
This project provided an excellent opportunity to practice Adobe Photoshop tools such as the paintbrush and blending tools, layer masks, and color adjustments. My research on Michelangelo aided my creative process when deciding on my colors, images, and overall layout.
